Freekehlicious w/ Masoor Dal

Ingredients
Masoor dal or red lentils - is one of the most commonly used lentil in India. It does not need soaking prior to cooking as it is a "soft" and cooks quickly.


• 2 cups cooked wholegrain freekeh

• 1 cup red lentils

• 3 cups water

• ½ tsp ground tumeric

• 3 tbps coconut oil

• 1 teaspoon cumin

• ½ cup coconut milk

• 2 tbps sliced garlic

• 1 tbp cilantro
Directions
1. Cook freekeh according to directions.

2. In a deep pan, add 3 cups water with tumeric and 1 tbsp oil. On high heat bring to a boil and add lentils. Reduce heat cook uncovered for 30 minutes. If water evaporates sooner add another 1 cup. Remove from heat.

3. In a small pan on medium heat add cumin and coconut milk. Mix well allow to slightly boil. Add to lentil mixture.

4. In same pan brown your garlic and pour on top.

5. Place Freekeh on platter and pour lentil mixture over and sprinkle with cilantro.
